The Vision Zero Academy A new international platform for safety innovations

Does your work involve traffic safety? If so, in the near future you will be able to take part in a new international academy that the Swedish government has endorsed to help improve and develop road safety for all.

Developing an international forum

The Vision Zero Academy will be an international forum that seeks to generate knowledge about road safety and how to reach the most effective and science based innovation and implementation processes. It aims to spread this awareness to stakeholders worldwide in an open, transparent and inclusive way. The Vision Zero Academy is under development by the Swedish Road Administration, and will function as an independent body with a network of scientific advisers.

Knowledge saves lives

We believe that knowledge saves lives. We also believe that the number of traffic-related deaths and injuries will fall faster if we all contribute to new innovations – and that these can be implemented faster and on a wider scale with the Vision Zero Academy as the node.

Potential research questions

The Vision Zero Academy will benefit individuals as well as entire societies, and ultimately even service and product providers, enabling them to compete with better and better offers in a global market. The potential research questions includes safety management, system architecture, emerging trends and policy making, transfer to low- and middle income countries, regulation, tax programs and economic incentives, corporate social responsibility and brand image, safety in trade, innovation processes and consumer programmes, rating and communication of safety.
